We’re making an origami ninja star today.

You may want to use scratch paper on your first try.

A light blue sheet of paper is torn in half the long way
Take one half and fold it into thirds, the long way
Fold it in half like a book
From the crease of the most recent fold, fold one end up. Turn it around and do the same for the other side
Fold at the new corners. Should have an "S" or "Z" shape
Cut the ends off so there is a pointy "S" or "Z" shape

You’re not done, yet. When you reach Step 6 with the “S” shape, make a second one (see below). One color is fine; I used two colors so they’re easier to distinguish.

Put one on top of the other in opposite directions, like a pinwheel
Fold one of the bottom points to the center. Then the point beside it, fold it on top of the previous point. Do the same with the third and fourth one.
Tuck the fourth point between under the first point.
The ninja star is complete with 4 corners. If two colors are used, the points alternate.
The back has a different design. The color that was on the bottom is more prominent.

When you’re on the last step, Step 9, tuck the last one under the first one folded. You may have to press it flat. There you go!
