This is where I stand

Right here

Feet frozen

Staring down at my feet

Then at the door in front

What lies beyond is the unknown

Mom tells me this

Dad tells me that

Brother tells me this

Cousin tells me that

What do I tell myself?

What do I want?

…

I won’t know if I continue to stay here
