When I first saw these aqua beads in the store, I hesitated to buy them because they were more expensive than ones that I’ve bought before and I hadn’t sold anything. The wire work is intricate (the store’s lighting wasn’t great so I didn’t see how pretty the color was). Yet, I still wanted them because I thought they looked expensive. Fake-it-till-you-make-it is my original design concept, because that’s where a lot of us are at, including me. We all strive to make it, keep it, and grow it.
It turns out, they are a good choice. Every time I wear this set, I get compliments – friends, waitresses, and employer. They mostly like the color. I took the picture above on a sunny day and you can see how beautifully the color shines on the wood. My friend Betty said that she loved this because the color looked great on me. The picture below is shows my friend modeling the earring, and you can see it looks great on her, too.
I made the necklace first with an 18″ chain. An aqua glass bead at the center connected to a 2″ piece of chain and then another bead. The necklace is very flirty since it’s highlighting the top. Since the necklace is making the statement, I made the earrings short to support the attention to the necklace.
